Hello again,

I wonder how to give a better look to user description.

Text appears in only one line, even if the user write diffent lines

CR should be replaced by
or even better by <p>, which would be opened and closed as text needs it.

What do you think ?

Regards

Let me start by saying I love this plug-in and so does my client. It was easy to set up and looks fantastic and couldn't be better for his club blog. I recently updated the WordpressUsers and Users Profile plugin to version 1.4 but there seemed to be an issue with the Membership Directory showing the photos. As the main admin, My profile picture is showing up okay but any of the members who uploaded photos on their accounts they are now not showing. There is an outlined box with an x and their username in place of what used to be their profile picture. My uploaded picture is showing up okay in the directory and if I log in on the same computer as another user, my admin photo still shows up in the directory but the user I'm logged in as, their photo is still missing, eventhough I can see their profile picture in a widget with their profile information on the sidebar. All of the generic avatar photos are in place in the directory, it is only the photos that people uploaded that are missing. I have wordpress 3.2 installed and have not updated to 3.2.1 because I'm new to wordpress and the auto update didn't work so I'm nervous to play with manually updating. I will get the courage up soon if that is the problem, just delaying because I will probably have to make changes to all of the css afterwards.
In the dashboard, under users, all of the photos people have uploaded are present. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app with no luck. In the settings, I have the following checked: Display user images on directory page; Display user descriptions on directory page; Display user images on profile page; Display user descriptions on profile page. For Avatar options I have User Photo selected and Gravatar deselected. Any help would be incredibly appreciated. Thanks!!

The user profiles are only visible to members that are logged in. If trying to visit the user profile while signed out (say a site visitor), a "Page not found" error appears. I need the user profiles to be made public. Is this possible?

If you are running the Users plugin any version other than the latest 1.4, you may be vulnerable to an SQL injection attack. It is recommended that you upgrade to version 1.4 immediately.

Version 1.4 also contains several other bug fixes for all the errors it was throwing in debug mode. My apologies, and thanks!

Hello,

I have a meta key called user_order that is just numerical. I found the line that gets the users but I haven't been successful in changing the order by the meta_key. the meta_value is a string. i.e. "1" "2" "3" ect.

Here is what I have

$query = "SELECT $wpdb->users.ID, $wpdb->users.user_nicename FROM $wpdb->users INNER JOIN $wpdb->usermeta ON $wpdb->users.ID = $wpdb->usermeta.user_id WHERE $meta_values ORDER BY $wpdb->usermeta.user_order LIMIT $offset, $limit";

when I run the plugin off of this query nothing is returned.

Help please.

I want the user list to display Alphabetically and show the Name and Email address of the User,not just their user name... Preferably on the LIST and the Profile...

I am not a programmer, nor do I have server access (I have to do everything through the WP Admin interface), so it has to be relatively simple for a web designer. :D

Hello,

Activation of WordPress Users v1.3 breaks the page function on several different themes on multiple WPMU 3.1 installations.

When the plugin is activated the following occurs across installations on mutliple themes including OnDemand by Press75, Shiword by TwoBeersCrew, Intrepidity by TopBlog Formula and others.

1) WordPress shortcodes will not render in pages when the plugin is active. Posts are not affected. Only pages break.

2) ANYTHING other than plain text that is pasted into a page gets duplicated above the header area of the theme. For example, an embedded google calendar appears in the page AND above the header area of the themes. Posts are not affected. Only pages.

Deactivation of the plugin eliminates theses issues on all installations and all themes.

Too bad, it sounded like just what I needed.

Thanks,

I am posing the diffs of a small hack I made on WPU plugin for correctly handling the role concept (as in WordPress > 3.0). Feel free to incorporate them in a new release of the plugin.

Do not hesitate to ask me the full code.

Hi:

Love this plugin! It's very clean and intuitive. It is a lot more effective than some others I've used. I had one question, is there a way to add code to publish the member's email address in the profile page?

I see the code for calling the website in wp-users.php:

	}

	if ($curauth->user_url && $curauth->user_url != "http://") {
$html .= "<p>Website: user_url\" rel=\"nofollow\">$curauth->user_url</p>\n";
}

Is there something I can add that will publish the email as well?

Thanks in advance,

Hello - I know there are several questions here about how to add custom fields form other programs - is there any news on how to do that? Is it possible to edit the template somehow?

Also, I'd really like to give people the ability to email or contact someone from the User Profile view - that's information that is in their Wordpress profile. How can I add those fields?

And, is there a way to set a default image (the site default maybe?) if someone doesn't put a picture up? The format goes haywire without that.

Thank you -
Alexa

p.s. (I agree with post in forum that there really should be an opt in/out on this. Good for future release - thanks!)

Great plugin!

I am willing to pay for some development work (provide me a quote) to have your plugin modified slightly.

Another plugin called "Member List" in the Wordpress repository has additional features we need which include being able to hide selected members from the list regardless of their role, search, sort and customization of list appearance.
Version 3.2.2 | By Matthew Praetzel

We need to be able to hide selected members other than by role as your plugin currently allows and to search and sort the member list.

I also like the way that "Member List" creates its own dedicated admin panel and I invite you to quote me for making these modifications.

Add dedicated admin panel
Add hide a member feature
Add member search
Add member list sort

Thanks for considering this request.

I look forward to a quote.

Sincerely,

Ever since I installed your plugin (which I like) every time I try to edit the administrator's profile I am told that I do not have permission. Luckily I had another user that I was able to make an administrator and that user was able to edit the original profile. However, the second user was not able to edit himself. I have looked at the database and it is fine. Your code is not documented and does not tell me anything straight up. What is the problem?

Some kind of search functionality or the option for the directory to be listed in alphabetical order.

Thanks so much!

Hi,

I've installed your wordpress users plugin which is great. However since installing i'm having the problem that i can't edit the administrator user profile. Whenever i try, i'm sent to the page i specified as my profile list page.

I've tried de-activating the plugin but the problem persists, only the page i'm redirected to is empty (obviously because the plugin is de-activated).

Any suggestions welcome!

Thanks

In the last week or so, I released version 1.2 of the Users plugin. New users were not appearing in WordPress 3.0, and that was fixed in that release.

Hot on the heels of 1.2 comes 1.3. With this version, I updated the pagination and added a default stylesheet. There is a way to override the stylesheet if you need to. I also moved the display of the page content from the bottom to the top of the page.

Let me know if you have any questions. I hope this is an improvement for those of you using this. Thanks.

I'm working on OklahomaComposers.org/wordpress (a test site), which is a new, blank wordpress 3.0 site with two users (the admin and a test user) and the Wordpress Users plugin. Neither user is showing up on the "Directory" page (the same problem occurs with the "profiler" plugin.)

Additionally, the oklahomacomposers.org main page (also WP3) will not list new users, and in fact only lists users imported from an earlier Joomla site.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I found this plugin great, but I would like to improve it and make it multilingual.

I wonder how to translate it at profiles list:

[ Page 2 of 2 ] [ « Prev ] [ 1 ] [ 2 ]

Also, at profile details:

« Back to Perfiles page
Joined on: June 1st, 2010

I do not want to change code at plugin files, cause if it is updated all changes will be lost.
Maybe adding new funcitions to functions.php which override plugin default settings or any other way you suggest

Thanks in advance for your support.

Hi, great plugin, searched the forum and found an answer to styling the directory layout using classes .wpu-user .wpu-user img and .wpu-id

Having a real job though trying to style the profile page without upsetting the layout of the directory page.

If I add .avatar to my style sheet and float left, it creates the layout I want on the profile page, wrapping the information around the avatar, but it breaks the layout on the description page.

I have added .avatarprofile to my stylesheet as my attempt to differentiate the styling of avatars on the two different pages, but this sole addition to the stylesheet has had no effect on the layout.

I have been advised that adding a variation of .avatar is the right approach, but this is as far as I can get with that tactic.

What code do I need to add, or what other class could I call on to display the profile image floating left and be independent of the directory image style.

Thanks, I have been on this for hours...and feel like I know everyone here:)

Hi,

I've got a normal WP blog, which I'd like to move to Wordpress MU. But I'm having trouble getting the 'Wordpress Users' plugin to display only the users for the blog being looked at. At the moment it shows all the users registered on all blogs, rather than just the one I am looking at. Unfortunately I can't quite work out how to filter out the other users. The two options I can see are;

1) adding another clause to the SQL query, to require 'meta_key = wp_[blog id]_user_level', or
2) adding an 'if' clause somewhere using the built in functions like 'is_user_member_of_blog'.

I think the second one would work for both WP and WPMU, so I'd rather try that approach. Has anyone tried doing this themselves?

Cheers

My Users are appearing twice - refer to Tibesar.com --> Members please. I deleted and removed the Members page. I deactivated and deleted the WordPress Users plugin. I then reinstalled and the problem remains. Any ideas would certainly be appreciated. Thank you for the great plugin!

Hi everyone!

First of all, thanks for the plugin, really solving my issue I needed for my page.
The only thing I cannot figure out how to costumize my users page. What I need is the users not under each other but side by side for instance like a table or something. I am a real rookie in coding so please dont reply:'u can do it in css' - if you could help me out with a few lines of codes and where to insert it it would be much appretiated. ( sry for my poor English :) )

You can see my problem in live clicking here

Hello all,

Slight novice on the coding front here - any idea if it's possible to replace the pagination with a scrolling function?

Hey there. First off... loving the plugin! A definite cure for a headache. I'm using it to show only the roles above subscribers so it isn't a very long list.

Because of that, I decided to use the photo and description options in directory view to pad the page a little more. The problem now is that it looks a bit cluttered. Is there a quick/easy way to input text based separators between users. So it looks something like -

[user photo here]
user#1

Description for user #1

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

[user photo here]
user#2

Description for user #2

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Is that possible? Easy?
Thanks in advance!
